Q re: recurrent miscarriage panel
So, I have yet to see Dr. B (or make an appointment with him for that matter) because I am still in a holding pattern. I have to go to the dr. AGAIN tomorrow for our last sono & beta level. In the meantime, I want to make sure that I am as prepared as possible.
Tomorrow I am going to demand a recurrent m/c panel from my OB since he is sending me for blood anyway. Does the recurrent m/c panel include an autoimmune piece or should I request that as well? I want to make sure I go in there with a plan of action because I am fairly certain that I will be an emotional mess. Plus, 1 doctor in the practice already made the comment of not needing any blood work/ consults with specialists because I already have a child azzhat... I want to be able to be my own advocate and argue for blood work that I feel is necessary without turning into a blubbering mess.
Sorry this is on the long side. I appreciate any info/advice/knowledge. I am so new to this I feel totally overwhelmed and confused. Thanks again

Re: Q re: recurrent miscarriage panel
First off, I'm very sorry
Honestly, I'd just make the appt with Dr B.
I had two miscarriages back to back and my OB was sending me for a recurrent miscarriage panel, but it did not include many of the tests that Dr B ran.
The autoimmune panel is relatively new testing and many OBs do not understand it, so they may not run it. Even if you request it, your OB may not know which tests to actually run.
I'd call Dr B ASAP because since you are still technically pregnant, he may already be able to tell by your bloodwork now if any immune cells are elevated.
Good luck!

Re: Q re: recurrent miscarriage panel
i agree with the PP. i wouldnt bother doing the immune panel with any other doctor. dr. b has very specific tests that other doctors don't necessarily run. you need to have the immune panel run by an immune specialist and it gets send to a special lab. it's not routine testing that any ob would do. i agree that i would call and try to get it done asap.
good luck!!
