Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
Deanna, I'm so sorry. You've had such a rough road already. I just want to tell you I am so proud of you!!! You are such a strong and caring person who is going to be such a wonderful mommy someday! All of the ladies on this board are absolutely tremendous- I don't know what I'd do without them. Please feel free to post over here as much as you want! I see Dr. Kenigsberg at LI-IVF as you know, and I know he does miscarriage panel bloodwork- but maybe if you find some dr's in your insurance plan we can help point you in the right direction. Also, what town you live and work in or near would help us find a dr. close to you!

Deanna, I am so sorry for your loss, it's so hard, I know.
I know where you live, but not sure about where you work. RSofNY has an office in Mineola, Dr. Cain is wonderful. Most RE's will run a recurrent miscarriage panel.
FM me if you need to.
edited b/c I am distracted

LI-IVF has an office in Melville. I think they also have one in Port Jeff and Stoneybrook.
How are you holding up?

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
Hi there. I'm so sorry.
There are a lot of great RE's out there and all of them can do the testing. I would go on a couple of consults to see who you feel most comfortable with. LI-IVF's offices are right around the corner from you. I started there but now I'm going to Dr. Braverman at SIRM. SIRM's Woodbury office isn't far from Melville either. Actually, I have an appointment today during lunch. It's about 10 minutes from here. SIRM does a lot of immune testing that the other clinics don't do.
Again, I'm so sorry.

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
I'm so sorry you have to go through this.
I go to RMA they are incredible.
Also not sure if this is any help but my mom had 3 miscarriages and it was because she had a short LP. She took clomid to get prego with my sister and than didn't have to take it again.

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
I would recomend Dr. Kofinas (in Garden City I think) for recurring losses. He is alittle doom and gloom at times. Allways tells it like it is but in is the top of his field. I had a consult with him but have a hmo so I couldn't afford to see him.

I switched from LI IVF to SIRM and had the immune testing done. I swear it did the trick!!! I LOVE Dr. Braverman!! GL I am sorry you are going through this.

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
I am so sorry for you losses. I went to East Coast Fertility to get preg. Once I graduated from there my OB sent me to Dr. Kofinas in GC. He is a perinatalogist and he recommened lots of testing. He found I have a blood clooting disorder that would have caused me to miscarriage by 24 weeks if not determined. He is amazing. I would check him out. As the PP said he tells it like it is.

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
I experienced 2 early losses before finally getting PG with IVF. I used LI IVF and my doctor was Dr. Brenner. I highly recommend them and their Melville office is brand new and totally state of the art. The testing that you are looking for can include: genetic testing, antibody testing, and blood clotting testing. An endometrial biopsy is sometimes also done. An HSG/water sonogram might also be recommended to examine your tubes and uterus. I hope you get some answers soon.

I am so sorry for your loss . I am also using LI-IVF for recurrent miscarriages. I go to the office in Melville and use Dr. Brenner. He is running a full panel of tests (blood, sono, etc.). FM me if you need more info.

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
I went to RSofNY in Mineola. I really liked it there. I saw Dr. Saketos and she was so nice and helpful. I got pregnant my first month with them. I too had a prior miscarriage and felt it would be best to be under "supervision" while trying.

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
I, too, would highly suggest Dr. Braverman at SIRM. Before him, I went to two other RE's offices and had terrible experiences w/ both.
So sorry for your loss. Good Luck.

ITA...I am just starting with SIRM and Braverman and he's running a huge list of tests on me...I mean HUGE. Some HQ Alpha something or other, natural killer cells and a big immune panel, far more extensive than I've had at other practices...

Re: RE suggestions for Recurrent Miscarriage?
My situation was a little different. I got pg through LIIVF but prior to this I didn't have insurance for IVF for about 3 1/2 years. In that time (in Texas), I went to SIRM-Dallas to get all the diagnostic testing including RPL panel (bloodwork) to rule out any autoimmune issues before doing IVF. At the time, I did not know how we were going to pay for IVF and wanted to get all the testing out of the way. They did find that I was autoimmune to my thyroid (hashimotos) but didn't feel it was a big deal. And everything else was fine. Although the bloodwork was pricey,it gave me a sense of relief.
If I were in your shoes, I would definitely go to SIRM!
The reason I went to LIIVF was b/c when we moved back to NY, I lived so close to the clinic and I knew what I was dealing with....pcos, block tube and fibroids. Although I am grateful for getting pg through LIIVF, I don't think they specialized in RPL testing. I would of definitely gone to SIRM here in NY had they found I had autoimmune issues.
Good Luck!!!
