Q re: Spider Veins (I think that is what they are called) especially for moms pg with #2 or more...
So luckily I managed to get through my first pregancy relatively unscathed - no stretch marks and just a tiny patch of these thin lines high on the ouside of my upper thigh - they are liike purplish and literally look like branches - i think they are called spider veins. This didn't appear until the WAY end of my pg with DS and maybe even from labor and delivery itself.
Now at 21 wks the situation with these things is getting worse - the "patch" I described above has now tripled in size and I am spotting these things elsewhere - on my ankles - some light ones on the back of my legs etc. I HATE THEM - especially b/c my legs used to be one of the things that always looked good no matter what! Now even though I can wear shorter shorts and skirts I am embarrassed to b/c of these stupid lines.
My question is why is this happening? And, is there anything I can do to stop it from getting worse? What can I do to prevent them from forming? I am on my feet alot - always standing or out and about - rarely sitting - does this have something to do with it? Why are they so much worse this time around? Does anyone else have these? Did they get better after you gave birth (mine didn't with DS #1 but I don't think they even appeared until that point).?
TIA

I am only pregnant with my first, but I know that constantly being on your feet can cause this. I do not think there is anyway to prevent them. I know you can get shots to disolve them or have them removed by laser.
