Ques about names on home's title/deed?
DH bought our home before we were married and I never got around to adding my name to the deed, and my name has never been on the mortgage.
We are refinancing now and both our names will be on the new mortgage - and also on the title - do I need to do anything separately to get my name on the deed or will the new title essentially be the deed? I know it's a dumb question but wanted to check. TIA.

If you will both be in title then you will both be on the deed.

Speak to the person handling your refi. Tell them you need to amend the Deed to add your name. They will prepare a new Deed for you. The Deed should be an exact match to what ever is on the mortgage. The Deed then needs to be filed in the county clerk's office.

Our lawyer handled this when we refinanced, I was in a similar situation. (except we closed before i was married and i wanted my new married name on the deed/mortgage)

A new deed definitely needs to be made up. It's not automatic.
