Question about buying baby clothes

So this weekend I plan on going to BRU and Macys to buy my Chat Icon some clothes since I got so little clothes at my shower. Should I buy mostly
0-3months and a few newborn things? Im not sure what sizes to get. My MIL thinks I should get 6 months but I think thats too big.

Re: Question about buying baby clothes

Newborn and 0-3 months for the first season you are in.

3, 3-6 months for the next season

6 months for the season after that and so on.

I found that the clothes DS is in, he's in them for about 3 months at a time.

Re: Question about buying baby clothes

DS was 8 lbs 1 oz at birth, but was on the shorter side. He fit into newborn clothes for the first 5 weeks. 0-3 month clothing was huge on him at the beginning. Every baby is different, but he's pretty much true to size (i.e. moving to 3-6 month clothing around 3 months, etc).

Re: Question about buying baby clothes

I would only buy a few things of each size until baby is born. I do think 6 months is too big. Even though you only got a couple of things at the shower, I think people will still bring you clothes after the baby is born. We had to buy a bunch of preemie and some newborn stuff because he was only 5lbs. Oh, and the other thing is most people bought me all the cute little outfits, so I had to buy mostly practical comfy stuff. So try and buy stuff that will keep baby comfy!

Re: Question about buying baby clothes

I would buy some newborn and 0-3 for the season LO will be born in, but don't go crazy! you will want gender specific stuff when LO gets here and people will give you tons of clothes, towels, bibs, and washclothes when he/she arrives.

Re: Question about buying baby clothes

DS wore newborn for one week. He was born at 7 lbs 14 oz. 20 3/4 inches.
DD is still in newborn at almost one month old. She was born at 7 lbs. 9 oz. 20 inches.
DS wore 0-3 for about a month, by four months old he was in 6-9 month clothing.
