Question about C-section???
He was born at 29 weeks due to a huge cyst that compicated things. I had him threw a c-section and they had to remove my left ovary and fallopian tube because the cyst was about just bigger than a grapefruit and infused in the fallopian tube and engulfed the ovary, it also had its own blood supply. I have had nothing but problems since. I am cut from hip to hip almost and there was 40 staples and a stitch in between each one. I had the staples out last Monday. The doctor said the last 7 on the right side were infected. He put me on antibiotics and told me 2x a day clean with peroxide. Well it has gotten worse. I cleean it and now I have to put a small layer of antibiotic ointment so i can cover it with gauze with out sticking b/c there is soo much puss. I also have extream pain and it feel like someone is pressing and poking my bone on my right hip. Does this sound like I am nuts or can there be more than just an infection going on I see him again Monday so I was just wondering if anyone haad any advice?

Re: Question about C-section???
i would be VERY concerned bc this doesnt sound like "just" a Csection question...you had all kinds of things done that someone with a Csection might not know. My incision from my C is so small...not hip to hip. That sounds like alot of stitches alot of infection etc... I d give him a call.

Re: Question about C-section???
I would definitely think there is an infection due to the puss. Call the dr. You may need an antibiotic.

Re: Question about C-section???
If you are in pain and you have puss, honestly I would call the emergency number and talk to him and on Monday I would have a detailed discussion. My scar was not that big either.

Re: Question about C-section???
I would go straight to the ER. This is not something to mess around with.

Re: Question about C-section???
Have you checked your temperature, any fever? Sounds like the antbiotics aren't helping and the infection is getting worse. Def. call the Dr. and if you are not satisfied with the care you get then get yourself to an ER ASAP!

Re: Question about C-section???
I would call the OB emergency number and prepare yourself for a trip to the hospital. Don't panic by any means. I ended up hospitalized after giving birth and being home, due to delivery complications. It will make you feel better.
I just added this post to the Parenting thread because it is Parenting related and there is more traffic over there. Some girls may answer over there.

Re: Question about C-section???
My c/s scar was a lot smaller but I did have tape blisters that formed and some puss b/c I was alergic to the tape. The Dr. gave me an ointment for it and the nurses recommended milk of mangnesium, but I would call the Emergency DR tonight even though you have an appointment tomorrow. I recall my dr saying that if there were problems with my healing that I should do that, and your case sounds so much more serious. Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery.
ETA: I re-read your post and I did not have staples. I would definately go to the ER -- honestly it is much better to be safe.... GL
