Question About Ear Infections

For those whose DCs have had one of these, could you tell he/she had one?

DS has been teething, and he pulls at his ears and rubs his cheeks a lot. I've been assuming this is due to his new teeth, but started to wonder if it could be an ear infection. He's cranky from time to time, but it comes and goes, and again, I think it's teeth. I was thinking if he had an ear infection he would cry more often or seem to be in pain.

So I was wondering if anyone was surprised with an ear infection, or if you know they have one from their behavior.

the first couple of times i would have NEVER known. Never even pulled at his ears.

Now...when he has a temp i usually know it is his ears
And he is puling them now
