Question about first shots....
I have DD's appointment scheduled at 10am on the 16th. Then, at 1pm, I am supposed to go to my new school and meet the principal. DH just told me he's got to work OT on the 16th so he won't be home (that's a whole 'nother thread- I can't believe I have to be alone watching her get these shots).
How bad do you think the aftereffects will be (the crankiness)? I mentioned I didn't have childcare on the 16th to the principal and she told me it wasn't a problem at all. But now I'm worried that DD will be losing her mind....
What advice/info can you all give me about how your DC reacted the same day as the first round of shots?
TY in advance

Re: Question about first shots....
I know every baby is different, but my DS is fine the day he gets his shots, it is always the next day he is cranky.

Re: Question about first shots....
my baby got a fever from his first shots. but like the person above had written, every baby reacts differently. i can understand why you would be nervous to go about it alone. do you think you could reschedule? if not, make sure you bring baby's tylenol with you. also ask your doctor for any other remedies. g' luck.

Re: Question about first shots....
DH described DS as cranky after his shots...but honestly I would say it was more clingy.
Tylenol is great! If she needs it make sure to have it with you.

Re: Question about first shots....
give her tylenol. Its works!!!
I dont even think twice about not giving it to her. Once she gets home she gets a dose. I havent had a problems since her 2 month shots (i never gave her tylenol and boy that was a mistake).

Re: Question about first shots....
I think it depends on WHAt shots. My Ped seems to do them differently then other peds from what I hear.
Noahs first shots were a shot of hep B and some meningitis shot( forgot the name) and a oral of rotovirus.
The ped said none of this should cause a fever and not to give him anything without asking them as a fever should not occur.
It didnt. He was fine...

Re: Question about first shots....
My DD slept for the rest of the day- no crankiness- but all kids are different.
