Thanks for the comments thus far. I have changed is what they say. Sorry I can't go out to the bar everyday on the weekend and blow money. Sorry I don't have woman drama in my life. I am sorry I am bettering myself and never have to complain about anything to them.
I agree with what's been said so far. I think though that with guys, the first one to break from the pack gets the ribbing. Part of it good natured, part of it because they resent being put on their own path to maturity because their friends are doing it.
When my husband and I first met, my friends did wind up resenting the time I spent with him. Said I was flatleaving them, all that jazz. My husband said they were selfish and he didn't like them. I got mad at my husband but what he said stuck in my mind when I would go out with them. And you know what? He was right. I was pretty selfish myself so it didn't occur to me until I wanted more in my life than just partying and bar hopping.
Hey, sh*t happens. If they're real friends, and if you both try, you can weather the changes in your lives. But if not, I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. Let it slowly fade, it sounds like it's already happening.
