Question about heat and NB

I am a new mom - DD just turned 6wks and this heat is unbearable. We live in an old house that is either too hot or too cold. Yesterday was the first time we used the AC's in the family room and bedroom.

My question is... am I a bad mother if DD is just hanging out in her diaper. I feel like she is so hot and I want her to be comfortable. I had her is onesies over the weekend, but I feel like she loves being as I like to call it "Nudey Nudts"

Any feedback??

TIA!!

Re: Question about heat and NB

let her wear her diapers, you are not a bad mom, she gets hot just like we do.

If i didn't have a/c (and even then it's set to 78), my girls would be wearing a diaper all day and i'd be walking around in a bathing suit.

Re: Question about heat and NB

DS loves to be naked, he's a "hot" kid.....
He sweats like a bandit and prefers to be in just his diaper.
You are definitely NOT a bad mom...

Re: Question about heat and NB

DS is 6 months and he was either in just a onesie or just a diaper all day. However they are most comfy!
You are totally not a bad mother...I know DS prefers to have just a diaper on as opposed to his clothes, the minute the clothes come off, he starts squealing with delight!

Re: Question about heat and NB

My Chat Icon wore just a diaper all days yesterday. We have AC in the bedrooms only and we had company, so I was forced to bring him into the heat. I see nothing wrong with just wearing a diaper in this heat.

Re: Question about heat and NB

My DD will turn 2 weeks tomorrow. This heat is discusting. I havent left the house. I keep her in either something light made out of cotton like a little dress, tee shirt or onsie if she gets sweaty I think its better than having nothing on because then they get sticky. Or i just keep her in her diaper and lay her on top of a satin blanket.

Anything you do for your DD is fine. Just try to figure out what makes her comfy and go with it. Good luck on staying cool...
