Question about hysteroscopy

Is the test painful where I should bring someone with me and not plan anything the rest of the day or will I be ok by myself?

Re: Question about hysteroscopy

I had mine done a couple of months ago at a hospital, and I was required to have someone drive me home. Anytime you are sedated the hospital requires you to have a driver. I actaully went grocery shopping afterwards. I had mild cramping and silght bleeding, but overall it was not too bad.

Re: Question about hysteroscopy

I had two done at my doctor's office, I was not sedated. For me it was rather painful because they had to dilate me to get the catheter in. The first time was worse, I actually threw up in the parking lot. The second time I don't think was as painful, but I still had someone come with me just in case.
Good luck!

mine was done in the doctors office too with no sedation. i felt fine. the whole thing took 2 minutes and felt like a period cramp. i was slightly crampy afterwards but overall i couldve gone to work if i wanted to but i took the day off. they told me to bring someone to drive me home. in the end i didnt really need it although DH did come with me.

Re: Question about hysteroscopy

Had this today. I went alone. As long as you aren't given sedation, you will be fine to drive yourself. If you have any specific questions, please feel free to send FM. Good luck!
