Question about Kraupners for ladies who have GHI
Dr. B's office called my prescriptions in to Kraupner's, and I didn't think twice about it, b/c I've seen that pharmacy discussed so frequently on the boards.
When I got home, I took another glance at my insurance information and saw that specialty drugs (which include injectables and related fertility drugs) are supposed to be ordered through ICORE Pharmacy Services. I realized this after I spoke to Kraupner's and gave them my insurance information, so I am going to wait and see what they say, but I was wondering if anyone has had experience dealing with this. Thanks!

Re: Question about Kraupners for ladies who have GHI
I have GHI and go through Freedom Fertility. Dr. B's office calls it in there for me. I was told I had to use FF when my scripts were initially called into Kraupner's. I've heard that some people have no problem going through Kraupner's, but others do.
If you have any other questions about GHI, I might be able to help.
Good luck!

Thanks! They just called me back and said that everything was covered but the ovidrel. I paid for it so that everything can be delivered today, and will research this in the meantime to see if it's covered if I get it from any place else.

Re: Question about Kraupners for ladies who have GHI
The ovidrel would be covered under your injectibles coverage (PICA). The issue is that we are only covered for three cycles of injectible meds, so one ovidrel shot would count as a cycle. It is better to pay out of pocket for the ovidrel in case you ever need to do IVF because you will need the coverage much more. I believe the out of pocket coverage for ovidrel is slightly less with Freedom, $50.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into Freedom for the next cycle (hopefully it won't be necessary). My plan might be different than yours, as I'm not covered for IVF at all (I'm not sure if you do, but I don't work for NYC, although most people who have GHI seem to). I have lots of phone calls and research to do.

I have GHI (not city) and the first time the Dr went through Kraupners, I had to pay. 2nd and 3rd time I found out about ICORE and it was covered(copay for brand name).

wow. I was actually thinking about this driving home today and realized you're not a city employee and don't have the same prescription plan. Good luck researching. It's very stressful. I hope is your cycle and you never have to worry about it!!
