question about light timers...
i want to set up my front entry light on a timer or some sort. but it can't be one that plugs into an outlet. my entry light is just a bulb out my front door that i control with a switch inside. i am searching online for some kind of product that would work. the only thing i found was a motion sensor bulb but i can only find it for sale online. anyone have a solution for this?

Re: question about light timers...
I've used something similar. It's a photosensitive module that goes into the bulb base of the lamp, then the bulb goes into that so there's no wiring involved. Some light fixtures won't work with it, though. If your light fixture blocks too much light from the sun, it will always be on. It's definitely worth a shot, though.

I like that idea. I'm going to look into a few of those for my front lights.

Re: question about light timers...
I have a timer built into the light swtich. It controls the outside light & the vestibule light.
It was there when I moved in. It is kind of like the programmable one but more lore low-tech--it just has a dial, so after you set it , there is no way of seeing what it is set to until it goes on or off.

I bought two of these timers. One is for the lights outside the front doors, and it automatically adjusts the time for sunrise and sunset, so I only have to touch it twice a year to adjust for DST. I installed that the other day, and it's working great.
The 2nd timer is just a manual timer, and I'm going to use that for a water feature, so it only goes on during the day, then in the winter, I'll change the timer for Christmas lights (since the water feature won't be running in December).
