question about maternity leave FMLA
I will be starting my 12 weeks of maternity leave in February. I work in a school so we'll will be closed for 2 weeks for midwiner recess and spring recess during my leave. So, do I get paid for those 2 weeks because everyone else if off and getting paid? Does my maternity leave get extended for 2 weeks?

you don't count those 2 weeks as part of your maternity leave since the schools are closed anyway, so basically you maternity leave is extended by 2 weeks

I don't believe either will happen. If I were staying at my job (my last day is Friday), I was told that any paid vacation days, including Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc. would not be paid to me during my maternity leave. There may be a way around it by saying you're returning for those weeks and then starting up your leave again afterward but I'm not sure if this is lawful or if they'd accept it.

This. Your maternity leave is extended 2 weeks. That works only on holidays that are a full week's worth. Example, if you were only off on Memorial Day, your not extended one day, hence the pp's comment on not being paid for those days, that's true too.
