Question about meeting new moms...

....so today DS & I were watching trains at the station today and another mom with her similar aged son started talking to us.....she just moved here, looking for new playdates etc. I ended up giving her my full name & number, told her is she wanted to meet at the park sometime to give me a call. In this day and age you can never be too careful, but would you have done the same? I know its a silly question, but after I got home I thought maybe I shouldn't just give out my info but I was trying to be nice!

I've done it and see no harm in it. I normally give out my first name and cell not full name or home number. I think we overdue the stranger danger thing a bit. If a crazy wants to find you they will. They do not need you to give them your name and number.

Yes, I would have done the same. I am shy when meeting new people, and I never make the first move...so if someone asked me for my info, or offered to give it to me, I would jump at the chance, because I would never have the gut.

I have made some really good friends from this website, and the first time we met, we were strangers, we met in a public place and now I consider them my closest friends. I didn't have any friends here in NJ before I met them, so I'm thankful that we exchanged names and numbers with strangers...it worked for me
