Question about paint?

I know its premature, but I'm just curious, how many cans of BM paint would you think I'd need for a small bathroom (basically just 1 full wall and then another wall where the sink/toliet/cabinets/etc and over the door & trim and over the tile work in the tub? Do you think I'd need more than one can? We are just sitting here waiting on our contracts thinking of things we would change. The bathroom is mint green and I would like to paint it Sage Green. Thanks Kerry

(contracts are coming tomorrow, tuesday the latest!!! Then appraiser comes on Weds and then title begins Weds. as well). Scary how easy and fast this is all going but the sellers want out by middle of Feb so we're not complaining!!).

Re: Question about paint?

I thought so, and BM is usually how much per gallon? Is there certain places that are cheaper? Is it neccessary to get BM for a bathroom? I know its top of the line when it comes to paint, but what's just as good but maybe cheaper? I don't want it chipping easy and I know BM is great.

Thanks

The best way to determine the amount of paint you'll need is to use BM's paint calculator.

Re: Question about paint?

One can should be enough. BM paint is around $25-30 a gallon depending on the finish you get. Behr paint is also rated really good by Consumer reports and is cheaper.

Most paints will work fine however, read the label carefully. Purchase a paint that works well in a high moisture area, one that guards against mold and mildew which can form in bathrooms. You need to protect the walls and ceiling.

Re: Question about paint?

One can should be fine. We bought 2 cans of Behr's to paint our bedroom (which is a pretty big room) and we have over a can still left over. Same thing for our living room.
I also recommend Behr's paint - I know a lot of people love BM, but we've always used Behr's and have never had a problem.....
