question about painting - and other news in my renovation saga.

yes... we are getting the point where I can start thinking about painting!!!! woo-hoo!!

Anyway, my question is this. Do you paint the kitchen BEFORE putting in the cabinets or AFTER?

In other reno news:
We are almost done refinishing the floors - I'll have pics by the end of the weekend.
We bought our new appliances Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon . As of right now they are being delivered on 8/4... maybe we'll be done with the kitchen earlier, and be able to get them sooner, but as of right now 8/4 will be the day the kitchen is complete!

IMO I would paint first, this way you don't have to worry about taping anything off when the cabinets are in. The only problem with this would be if you damaged the walls in anyway, then you would have to fix the walls and paint a little again. Your house is really coming along. Paint first. You can always do touch ups after the cabinets have been attached.

So glad to hear that everything is coming along for you guys!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

I always thought you painted last, this way you don't have to worry about the walls being banged up...and they usually do get banged up. Taping off is easy, fixing up is probably a bit more work intensive.
