Question about Placenta Previa
I had a sonogram today at 15 weeks to check on a hematoma. While I was there, the tech said that the placenta was slightly covering my cervix and told me not worry. She said since I am still early on, "things" are still shifting and chances are, as my uterus continues to grow, all will be fine. Has this happened to anyone else? Is it something I should be concerned about this early on?

Re: Question about Placenta Previa
According to my Dr you have a 90% chance of it moving before your DD.

Re: Question about Placenta Previa
I have complete previa and it was found at my 16 week appointment (I too had a hematoma)...As of my 20 week sono it had shifted slightly but was still there...I was put on modified bed-rest because I was in the ER for bleeding- Just make sure until its completely gone (which they say most move) that you not lift anything heavy and you may want to ask if the OB wants you on pelvic rest...The reason I say to ask your OB is because the sono tech told me not to worry, I never asked my OB, went on with life as usual and then had the bleeding incident which landed me in ER - Dont want to make you nervous (Remember, mine is complete previa) but don't want you to experience what I did ...I'll find out next week at my 28 week sono, if its moved- If not I will be delivering at 36 weeks so crossing my fingers its gone !!! But they did say most migrate north especially when found early !!!!

Re: Question about Placenta Previa
I was diagnosed with previa at my 16 week appointment. My OB gave me no restrictions at that point, but when it hadn't moved at my 20 week appointment, I was placed on pelvic rest. At 25 weeks, it moved to be a low lying placenta instead of a previa, and I was taken off of pelvic rest. It moved completely by 29/30 weeks. I never had any bleeding episodes. Also, although the dr did not place me on any restrictions at 16 weeks, I did stop working out because I was scared, and also did not lift things and tried to take it easy.

Re: Question about Placenta Previa
I had it in my first trimester. My perinatal doctor(who I go to every 2 weeks) found it. As of right now, it has moved away from my cervix. I am currently 14 weeks.
