Question about self feeding....

When should a child attempt to feed themselves? Lance is 8 months old and does not feed himself at all. He does not even hold his bottle. He does grab the spoon, but never to put in his mouth, only to throw on the floor. Chat Icon Does anyone elses child do this? Am I doing something wrong? TIA

I only started to let DS feed himself with a spoon or fork at one year. I need to put food on it but he can get it in his month.

Re: Question about self feeding....

Luca is 9 months and feeds himself with his hands. When I feed him things with a spoon or fork he will try to hold it with me, but I know he'd never make it to his mouth on his own.

Ditto on both counts Chat Icon my DS can spot a puff a mile away and will make sure he gets it into his mouth!

DS just refuses to hold his bottle.. I *know* he can .. he just doesn't feel like it Chat Icon
