Question about starting cereal
DS is just about 4 months and I think he is ready to start cereal, he always seem hungry. We have a wellness visit next week but I wanted to start cereal now.
Do you give it in a bottle or in a bowl by spoon?
If by bottle do I have to use a level 2 nipple?
Is is 1 ounce of rice cereal for every 1 ounce of milk?
Thanks.

Re: Question about starting cereal
Never put it in the bottle unless instructed by your ped. it's considered a chocking hazard. Most only rec it for relux patients.
I actually spoke with my ped last night. He said it's 1 to 3. 1 oz of cereal and 3 oz of formula.
Good luck!! Im thinking of trying it in a few weeks. He is 18 weeks now. Maybe at 20 weeks. My DS just started eating a lot lately!!

Thank you.
DS has reflux and the pediatric GI told us to add the cereal to his bottle awhile ago which we never did b/c he almost never takes a bottle (he is EBF). I didnt realize it was a choking hazard.

Just my suggestion and just my personal opinion.. if you haven't done so.. and he is doing well without it in the bottle.. maybe try it with the spoon first. Of course if it's to help with the refulx..def put it in the bottle like ped said though!! Good luck!!!
