Question about STTN
DD is 4 1/2 months old and goes to bed at 8 and wakes up anywhere between 3-4 am for a bottle and will go back down to about 6. I am VERY fortunate that she sleeps long stretches! At 3/4 am she will finish an entire bottle - about 7/8oz EASILY!! She goes to bed with a full stomach - cereal and a bottle. If she's this hungry at 3/4am, will she ever skip that bottle and sleep a little later? Do they eventually grow out of needing that extra feeding??

Re: Question about STTN
is it possible to put dd to bed a little later or maybe squeeze in a bit more bottle to hold her over until 6?
Once ds slept a few nights through from 9-7 i stopped middle of the night bottles.
we had to cio a little, but he got used to it within a few weeks..

Re: Question about STTN
DD is 7 1/2 months and is still needing that early morning feeding BUT, we are about to start with chicken and pastina, so I am crossing my fingers that that does the trick!
My guess is that your DD may still need that extra feeding, but may be able to sleep just a little bit later before waking up (DD will go to sleep around 7:30-8:00 and wake at 5 for that feeding, then go back to sleep until about 7:30).

Re: Question about STTN
Yes kaydyn did the same thing from about 6 weeks on...she generally just woke up once a night and most times would down an entire bottle before falling back to sleep.
She started waking later and later until she was waking around 4:30/5 and I was getting up for work at 6:30/7 and was exhausted b/c her last bottle was around 10pm.
At 8 months we did CIO and after 2 nights she slept through the night for about 12 hours.
As she get a little older she may be able to do longer stretches for you and eventually STTN completely.

Re: Question about STTN
My DD sounds similar. At 4 mo, she was going to bed at 7 and waking around 2:30-4 for a bottle. She also sucked it down. She would then wake around 6:30-7 for the day.
Recently I have been giving her fruit and she now sleeps until 5:30-6 and then goes back down until about 8. She is 6 mo.

Re: Question about STTN
My only advice would be to pack in more ounces during the day and delay bed time as long as possible. If you keep the bed time at 7PM then I would sneak in a dream feed around 10PM. My DD has been STTN since 5 weeks old with these strategies.

Re: Question about STTN
At 4 1/2 months my DD was up 2 sometimes 3 times a night to eat, I think that is totally normal, they are growing at a record speed and their stomach is small. I couldn't force DD to take more during the day, she took what she could and then would just wake in the middle of the night to eat more.
It will come!

Thanks! When did your DD stop waking up for a feeding? I don't expect it to happen anytime soon, and I am VERY thankful she's a good sleeper, I was just wondering what others have experienced.
