Question for 1st time preggos....

Are you finding yourself beginning to think about your NEXT child already?

Maybe because I'm in my 3rd tri, and the countdown is beginning, I started to mention another child.... DH almost passed out.

Anyone else? Have you mentioned it to DH? How does he feel?

Also - I'm 33 and DH is 43. All you yung'uns may be like hell yeah - I have years to bang em out!!! Chat Icon

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

Yes, we've already discussed #2 and we'll most likely be waiting a year or two after #1 is born.

We know we are going to try for a 2nd but it probably wont be for a few years after our first is born.

Yes Liza, we decided we'll probably start trying for #2 August of 08, I'll be 38 at that point.

Unfortunately I keep thinking how much I don't like being pregnant, so I wonder what it would be like to already have a child AND be pregnant again and I really don't like the thought Chat Icon

Yes!
But I want to see how I can handle one but otherwise I would like to start trying a year after this one is born.

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

Yes we've talked about it- we want them 1.5-2.5 years apart. Even though I dont really enjoy prgenancy Its very important to me to have at least two children. My dilemma is how soon - there are advantages to doing both but

I'm leaning towards closer than further- get it all over with -pregnancy, diapers, etc vs doing it once forgetting and doing it all over again

Who knows how I'll feel once she gets here

MAJOR DITTO.

I told DH that I refuse to do this again until Chat Icon is four or five, if ever again. I know every pregnancy is different, but I cannot see being THIS sick and miserable with a toddler running around, it wouldn't be fair. I can barely take care of myself!

I am hoping he is ok with DS being our only child.

I have to say I agree. I love children and I feel so blessed to be expecting a child, but I don't like being pregnant!

When people say they miss being pregnant or how much they loved being pregnant, I am totally confused... Chat Icon

We haven't gone through any details, we just know we'll have another. Just need to get through this one first before we talk about when!

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

We talked about 2 before we were PG with 1, they will probably be about 3 years apart, so I have some time.

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

Not PG yet with #1 and I am ALREADY thinking about baby #2. I didnt want to have my kids close together for a few reasons, but it looks like there will be no choice. I prefer not to have children in my 40s so I have to move fast - damn fast.

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

not thinking about number 2 anytime soon. There's 3.5 years between my sister and I and I always thought it was a great age difference. . . so that would make me around 37 or 38 with number 2. . . that's fine with me.

We really havent started talking about it, although if we are going to do it, I would say it will have to be relatively soon, I am 36 and DH is 42!

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

It makes me feel better seeing women in their 30's responding - I feel like even though I'm in my relatively early 30's - 33, I am concerned that I may not get as pregnant as easily the second time around because I might be "trying"

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

We've talked about it a couple of times.

We have 7 frozen blastocysts to use, and I don't want them frozen for too long, so we may consider a late '07 cycle for that.

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

I would like a 2nd child, DH would be fine with either 1 or 2.

We agreed to see how we do after the first one. I would like to wait 2 years but not more since I am older already.

For those who hate being PG, I would like to join the club. Some women tell me how much they loved it.... my only dream is to wake up and it's already June, the baby is born and I am feeling great!!!

Re: Question for 1st time preggos....

Since we had to go through IVF, we plan to try as soon as possible naturally, and see what happens.

Being 40 sucks -- but, if it means I had to wait this long to have a baby with the right person, then it is worth it.
