Question for all of the newly pregnant Moms
How do you get your OB's to see you right away? Mine doesn't see newly pg patients till 6weeks, my best friends -not until 8 weeks and my SIL's- not until 8-10.
Do you just call and say you got a positive test and want to confirm??
Did they give you a hard time and ask you to wait??
Thanks, Tara

Re: Question for all of the newly pregnant Moms
When I was preggo my doctor saw me the next day. I just told the girl I had gotten a positive test & had no idea how far along I was. Try that.

NOT PG.... But when I got my +'s, my OB would not see me until I was about 9 weeks along.
ETA: it might have to do with insurance too - on how many visits your insurance will cover over the course of a pregnancy.

Re: Question for all of the newly pregnant Moms
Not preggo either. But my dr. only saw me b/c I was a new patient.
I was told that pregnancy tests are so good these days that they do not need to see you so early anymore.
ETA: 6 weeks is pretty early anyway, isn't it? If you found out between 4-5 weeks, that is pretty much right away in my book.

Re: Question for all of the newly pregnant Moms
I called my doc for an appt on a Friday after I tested and got one for a Monday (I was 4 weeks)...
I said I thought I may be pg and they didn't even ask twice...I NEEDED the doc confirmation! I took TWELVE tests between those three days

Re: Question for all of the newly pregnant Moms
NOT PREGGO HERE EITHER BUT..
When I was pg with #3, I happened to have an OB appt a day or 2 after I suspected I might be pg. So they gave me a blood test. But my OB said if I didnt happen to have that appt, I'd probably come at 8 weeks. It was very very early and he still had to have me come back, it didn't even show up on the ultrasound. (On the bloodtest it obviously but not the US) They really want to see the HCG levels at a certain level before insurance technically considers it a viable pregnancy. Around 8 weeks or so is when the HCG levels are the highest.
