question for BTDT moms and infant sleeping arrangements
I am due in January with my first baby and trying to get a handle on all the "equipment" we will need. The issue is that we will be moving across country at the end of June when the baby is about 5 months old. I would prefer not to have to buy a crib and transport it since we will not be moving a whole lot of furniture (we are only moving for a year).
I am thinking of getting a pack and play and the fisher price rock and play sleeper. Will it be okay for the baby to sleep in these two things for the first five months? We would purchase a crib once we move.
And if so, is there a pack and play that would be better for sleeping or can you get a better mattress for them?
TIA!!!

you may be better off with a bassinet that goes to 30lbs. most PnPs only hold up to 15lbs on the bassinet part. but then you can always put the baby on the lower part if they outweigh the max.

DD was in the pack n play in our room until 5 months old when she hit the weight limit. We used this one and loved it:

Re: question for BTDT moms and infant sleeping arrangements
I have the FP rock n play sleeper and love it. My DS has reflux so we bought it when he was 6 weeks old so it's helped tremendously. The weight limit is 25lbs so you can probably use it until DC is 5 months. My DS is 3 months and weighs 15lbs (and he's in the 90th percentile) so you should definitely get use out of it. It folds flat too so it would be easy to transport.

Thank you for the responses! I feel better about the situation now and it sounds like we should be okay until we make the move.

I think it's totally fine for you to do that.
We originally had DD in the bassinet of the PNP but she preferred to be slightly upright so we got the rock and play sleeper, and used that till about 3 months or so. We put her in the crib at that point but if you wanted to, you could put your DC in the PNP till you move, there is nothing wrong with that
