Question for girls who see Dr. Braverman and work in the city
How do you arrange your appointments?
I had an appt this morning at 8:45, didn't get out of there till 9:30 and then had to get into the city. I usually get the train from Islip/Babylon but didn't want to go back East so I ended up driving in. I looked at taking the train from NHP but the next train wasn't for 40 min. I don't know where I can get parking in the surrounding towns without a permit.
So, what do you do? I can't keep driving into the city. Today will have cost me $100 including my copay. and I didn't get to the office till 11!

Re: Question for girls who see Dr. Braverman and work in the city
i go for monitoring at AFS on Lex and 57th. their monitoring starts around 7:30am. i can usually get out by 8:15-8:30.
its not the same as seeing Dr. B himself, but he always calls (or emails) a few hours later to tell you what to do. if you are going to go there make sure you email and remind him so that he remembers to review the sonos and bloodwork.
i find it to be a lot quicker than his office, since its just monitoring appointments, it goes pretty quick. good luck!!

Thanks. I was hoping to see Dr. B as much as possible, but I think I will have to go to AFS for monitoring too.

I've been to AFS before for that too.
I tend to take the latest afternoon appts and it makes me less stressed leaving early.
I take the train from Bethpage since I live there.
Either way it's difficult since he doesn't have very early hours..but AFS is a good solution.

Re: Question for girls who see Dr. Braverman and work in the city
It was a huge PIA to see Dr. B himself b/c of his office hours, so i went for the majority of my monitoring at AFS in the city. I would then call/email him at 2pm ish for results.
When you get closer to having to trigger, i would highly suggest trying to see him directly. As you know timing is EVERYTHING. I know its incredibly difficult with work.

Re: Question for girls who see Dr. Braverman and work in the city
I don't even work in the city and the hours are becoing an issue for me. I was there this morning too and didn't get out until almost 9:30 (Had an 8:30...must have just missed you). I leave my house at 7:15 (traffic has been BEASTLY) and by the time I get to work I'm already exhausted from the day. I can't do afternoons though b/c once I am at work it is almost impossible to get out in the middle of the day. Just one more reason I am so done with all of this! I do miss the early hours I was able to get elsewhere (but that's about all I miss!!) Hang in there...and good luck!

You can park at the garage in mineola without a permit. It is $5 or $7 a day. There are a lot of trains out of there. HTH

There is a parking lot at hicksville, and that station has a lot of trains, every 10 min.

Thanks. That's definitely better than the $43 I paid by my office yesterday.

Re: Question for girls who see Dr. Braverman and work in the city
I use to drop my DD off at daycare in Bayside. I would drive from Dr. B's office to Bayside and take that line. However, now they've cut back on the times on that line.... not a good idea.
I've moved DD to East Rockaway anyway.
If you're on the Babalyon line, a little drive down to Merrick is free parking. So is Bellmore, but I think they're always filled up by 8am I also think Baldwin is free parking, and I always see spots avail. in that parking lot.
Good luck to you!!!!
