LI IVF girls?- blood work question
I got a prescription in the mail today to have Fragile X and something else (it's in the car) tested AT LI IVF. I know they said all the labs and everything are covered in the grant (if we're approved) but we won't know for another week or so. I don't know what to do with the prescription. I think the only reason the nurse sent it out already is because my DH is adopted and we know very little about his biological background... and she wanted us to get a head start. Should I wait to do it until I know if we were approved or just go? I'm thinking that my own medical insurance should pay for the lab- assuming it's done at one of their places- but LI IVF sends this up to Boston they said to get it run at a specific place.... so I don't know what to do. Any thoughts?? TIA!

Re: LI IVF girls?- blood work question
The Rx is probably for the 2 standard genetic tests that are done: Fragile X and Cystic Fibrosis. It's a good idea to have these done before your IVF cycle. This should be covered by your regular insurance. Best of luck!
