Question for mommies...stripping membranes?
A quick question for all of you mommies.....if your doc stripped your membranes prior to labor starting, did it work to help bring labor on or did it have no real effect on you?
If it did work, how quickly did labor start?

Re: Question for mommies...stripping membranes?
I had my membranes stripped and went into labor 12 hours later. Don't know if it had anything to do with it, but as soon as it was done, I felt cramping.

I've had some minor cramping since he did it around 1pm too....keeping my fingers crossed that this works in the next 24-48hrs!!! Thanks!

My doc was going to do this to me, but he didn't because DS hadn't "dropped" yet although I was 1 cm dilated. I heard it works great *if* your body is ready

My doc never verbally said that's what he was doing.....but all I know is on a Thursday night at 7 PM I actually almost yelled at him .....and I qoute....."Why are you digging around so rough in there?!?!?!"
Saturday morning ....I guess about 36 hours later my water broke.
