Question for the cat people
The neighbor cat who has adopted us (he pretty much lives on our porch instead of going home) had some mucous in one of his eyes late yesterday afternoon and spent most the afternoon/evening snuggled up in the Kitty Kube I bought him that sits at the end of the porch.
Usually any time we open the front door, he's meowing like crazy and comes running to either try to get in to see the dog or just for some lovin' in general.

ETA: I just realized I didn't ask a question ... anyway, is a goopy eye somewhat common in cats? It looked better this morning.
(And I just realized I quoted instead of editing!! )

Re: Question for the cat people
it's definitely not normal.
It's normal for them to have some crust at the corners (kinda like the way we have "sand" in our eyes after we sleep), but it sounds like an infection. Is there a way you can take him to the vet?

It seems to be cleared already ... which seems a little odd (I sorta thought from some web research it could be an infection as well). I'd definitely take him to the vet if I thought it was bad but not sure what great care I can give him (if he needed meds) since he doesn't really live here.
Still trying to convince my mom that we should bring him to her when we visit for the holidays
Thanks for the reply!!
