Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I'm looking at photo cards for this year and have found some really cute ones with Santa on them that say Merry Christmas. I have about 4 people that I know are Jewish and I'm not sure if they do or don't celebrate Christmas (2 of them are married to Christians). Is it insulting if I send a "Merry Christmas" card to them? I will have a picture of my boys on it so I would like to send it but I don't think I've ever sent one so Christmasy (not sure if that is even a word ).
Thanks

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I have always gotten all kinds of cards. I just think it is nice that someone is thinking of me. The sentiment behind any holiday card is nice, whether or not you celebrate that holiday. I am never offended by a Christmas card.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
We do not celebrate Christmas in our home at all. We do not expect people to tailor their holiday cards for us, however we DO appreciate when people send us Chanukah cards. Half the people we send cards to celebrate Chanukah and the other half celebrate either Christmas or both holidays. Since it was rather easy for us to print our own cards last year, I asked our wonderful card designer to make TWO versions.
Chanukah: Holiday:

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I do not mind getting cards of any kind. I have gotten merry xmas cards, happy holidays cards etc. I usually send out a snow card - something to do with winter. However, my mother just told me the other day that she would have NEVER done that. I am still going to do it anyways.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I don't think I've ever gotten one single Hanukah card from anyone. Granted it would have been nice to have my friends consider that I don't celebrate Christmas, but I understand that people get cards in bulk so it's just easier to send all merry christmas cards or whatever they're sending. So, yes you can send whatever card you send to everyone, it's just a card and I'm just happy to get them in the end.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
You could always make your own card for those 4 people. Just glue a 4x6 onto a blank card.
DH was raised Jewish so a lot of our list don't celebrate Hanukkah and one year we sent out a card with a picture of our kids with Santa.

we celebrate Christmas and only have 1 non-Christmas celebrater (they are jewish). I'm still gonna do a Merry Christmas card but I'll make sure to also write happy holidays on theirs.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I wouldn't mind at all..we're sending out happy holiday cards...not hannukah cards, and I wouldn't mind getting a Christmas card at all..I think the fact that a friend thought of me is nice, and there is no need to cater a card to me...

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I don't mind receiving them at all. It is the thought that counts....
Personally, we send out HappyHoliday cards so it covers everyone's religious beliefs.

This is what we do. We order a bunch of each, and I tailor who I send which card too.

This is what I did last year. I would never send my friends who don't celebrate Christmas a "Merry Christmas" card. Just doesn't feel right to me.
You can always just get blank holiday cards and stick a 4x6 picture of DC in it for your non-Christmas folk.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I was just talking about this with one of my friends and to be honest it can be annoying to get cards that say merry christmas bc we don't celebrate christmas. . I'm jewish and most of friends are jewish also but I don't send happy hanukkah cards to my non-jewish friends, I just buy happy holiday cards as well. And most of my non-jewish friends send me happy holiday cards in return.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
We're going to send out "Happy Holiday" cards, but I don't mind at all if we get Merry Christmas cards. We always get them from a lot of friends. They get them in bulk so what can you do. It's nice that our friends (no matter what they celebrate) are thinking of us and wishing us well... no matter what the card says.

Re: Question for the ladies who do NOT celebrate Christmas
I'm not at all insulted when I get a xmas card (I'm jewish) - I enjoy the thought and sentiment.
But, I will add, that I'm really deeply touched when someone goes out of their way to send me a chanukah card or a happy holidays card instead
