Question for the Working Moms
When your children are in school what happens during the summer? Do they go to daycare? How does that work? Or after school, what do they do?
I'm thinking of returning to work in about a year or so, and am just trying to understand what everyone does for childcare for school aged kids. Thanks!

Re: Question for the Working Moms
They go to camp. The trick is to find a camp that's open the hours you need.

Re: Question for the Working Moms
My son goes to aftercare. The school offers it on site, and most do until around 6 or 6:30. Most also have before care.
Camp in the summer is expensive and like Barbara said, you have to find hours that work for your job. Daycare centers usually have camp programs and they tend to be the least expensive and have the most accomodating hours to working parents.
I took last Summer off to spend time with DS and this Summer I was on maternity leave so he went to camp several weeks here and there just for fun. Next year he'll probably be at a daycare camp since I'll be fired if I have to take another Summer off!
