Question for those that work out. How soon after giving birth. h did you start to exercise?h did you start
I had my DS just under two weeks ago and I'm ready to get my body back.I plan on doing some things at home for a while and start walking and riding my bike soon. My DH does cross fit so I plan on doing that eventually. I had vag delivery with very little tearing. I pretty much feel fine. I was a mess for a long time with first DS.

I started somewhat early because I teach dance for a living. After DS 1 I returned to work in 3 weeks, with DS 2 I had 4 weeks because of a vacation week. I danced 4 days a week any where from 3-5 hours a day, but I did take it easy. I started working out a bit harder after 6 weeks.

I would ask your Dr. I had a section and was not cleared until 6 weeks. While I felt great within 2 weeks once I actually did excercise I could feel that my body needed to take it slow.

i felt like a mess after my DD and waited about three weeks to start walking with her. i didnt go back to the YMCA until she was about 9 weeks or so

I started real exercise at 8 weeks PP. I had some serious tearing though. Remember that your joints are still loose from the relaxin your body released prior to child birth, and you are at high risk of joint injury until 6 weeks pp because of that, your joints are pretty unstable until then.

was cleared by my midwife at 7 weeks pp but I had a c-section

I felt great and started lifting light weights and doing squats 2 weeks pp, i started running 4 weeks pp, and spinning 6 weeks pp.
go for it and just listen to your body :)
