Question for those using top of dresser as changing table

What did you put down on the top of the dresser under the changing pad to prevent staining and slipping? When they delivered the furniture on Thursday we were told that the warranty will not cover any sort of "baby spillage" if it ruins the finish. I want to try to protect the wood as well as really make sure the pad doesn't slip. TIA

Any "spillage" should be contained on the changing pad. They are waterproof and I havent had a problem with that at all.

I have that drawer liner stuff under it. It comes in a roll and is grippy...works awesome.

I was about to suggest draw liner, it's very cheap too and comes in different colors.

I never have had an issue with spillage. The pad is also screwed to the back of the dresser so it doesn't slip.

The pad screws to the back of the dresser so it does not slip. The pad stops anything from getting on the dresser.

We have this rubber kitchen cabinet liner thingy under it. I have no idea what you would call it. lol

And we've never had a close call with any "spillage."

We have not had any issues and the only thing I was concerned about was any scratches that may come from the little guard that attaches to the top to keep the changing pad from moving. We put little pieces of felt along it so it wouldn't scratch.

As far as spillage or any part being ruined by liquid. I wouldn't worry because the changing pad itself is waterproof and you won't be able to see the bottom of the changing table once you put the bad on the dresser and all the things you will need for changing the baby.

what about boys? I am concerned that some of his "spillage" may go over the changing pad. Has that happened to anyone?

Never. It got on ME a few times, but never on the dresser!

That's what we use too. DS has certainly peed on the changing pad, but I don't think he ever peed on the actual dresser. Cover him with a washcloth as soon as you open the diaper and you should be fine.
