Question for those who had an episiotomy

where you scared to do the deed again? I got the all clear from my OB, but I'm PETRIFIED. It still hurts sometimes when I wipe too hard, let alone do anything physicalChat Icon

I'm not going to lie...it kind of hurt the first time, but not excrutiating pain...more like discomfort.

Re: Question for those who had an episiotomy

Yup, I was scared. If you're still having pain, I would hold off longer.

Re: Question for those who had an episiotomy

I waited a couple weeks after i got the all clear i was still sore/uncomfy.

Use lube, it helps the first couple times, especially sometimes if you anticipate the discomfort.

After you get over the intial OMG it's gonna hurt, you will be fineChat Icon

Re: Question for those who had an episiotomy

I have to be honest I still hurt nearly 1 year after!!!but I have been EBF since DD was born so that doesnt help either - dries you upChat Icon ...TMI but I feel like a virgin again and its not necessarily a good thing......

Like the other posters said lots of lube and try not to anticipate the pain - easier said than done...maybe have a glass of wineChat Icon Chat Icon

Lots of lube, and you can play Madonna's Like a Virgin in the background for a little mood music. Chat Icon

Re: Question for those who had an episiotomy

I was nervous - I waited a bit after I was cleared and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
