Question for those who use Dr. Singer/OBGYN at Huntington Medical Group

I think she's a great person - but I really have been feeling she was way too many patients and as a result, it is impacting her as a doctor. I won't even go into how she almost rushed me out when I was complaining I didn't feel the baby move that much on my due date (I wasn't dilated) and she finally did a closer check to find out I had low fluid and needed to be induced immediately....

But now, when I come for a regular check up, it's a 45 minute wait. Last time I couldn't wait, so I rescheduled for a few more months. That appointment was then cancelled by her (I received a phone call).

I didn't call back to reschedule yet.

Anyone else finding this happen?

I need a reliable OBGYN in the Huntington/Northport area. I'm 36, and actually need paps every 6 mts because of some dysplasia, and now it's been over a year since my last one Chat Icon

I'm not sure if I'm planning on having another child - but I guess I would also like someone who has experience with older women who are pregnant - just in case.

Thanks!

I left singer because of the waits and being rushed. I go to dr meagher. Pronounced dr marr. Hes awesome. 15 minute wait does all work in his office and does not rush you. Hes on pulaski in greenlawn heading towards huntington right by the waldbaums. His # is 631-368-2828 and has one late night and saturdays too. Good luck.

dr. singer was my doc before she left wgm. she is a good doc but lacks the "bedside manner gene". i am happy at wgm, but the wait there kills me! luckily i make sure to make my appts with enough time b.c i think the docs there are worth the wait. they have been so good to me.

Never used that practice. But if you are in the area and looking for a new doctor I highly recommend Dr. Wagner and Dr. Goldman of WGM Obstestrics and Gynecology (website )

They have 2 offices. One in Huntington and the other in East Northport.

Both great doctors, great bedside manner, and the longest I've had to wait in the waiting room is about 20 minutes.

I'm back at WGM, on Pulaski Road near Larkfield. My night appointment was done in about 1/2 hour.

However, in the past, there was longer wait when I went to the ob.

Re: Question for those who use Dr. Singer/OBGYN at Huntington Medical Group

I was going to Dr. Singer for most of my pregnancy. Some visits I was there for 2 hours (in the middle of the work day no less!).

When I would finally see her, it was so rushed. I would have to write down all of my questions and concerns on paper, and she barely gave me a chance to glance at them. She's such a fast talker too. If I got half of my questions answered, I considered it a success.

I get that all doctors are busy, but after patiently waiting for so long, I wanted my time too. I didn't want my appt to be rushed after sitting there for over an hour.

Ultimately Dr. Kramer delivered my son via c-section, since I couldn't get on the schedule with Dr. Singer.

I will stick with Dr. Kramer until after I deliver my next child (not pregnant now). But after that I plan on going to a practice closer to home (I live on the south shore now).

My sister goes to Wagner & Goldman in the East Northport office. She said the wait isn't bad at that office.

I use Dr.Kramer (I think he's in that Group).
I go to his Commack office.
I have never felt rushed and he was great through both my pregnancies.

Dr. Singer is also my doctor and I feel the exact same way. I don't even look forward to my appointments because I know that no matter what time of the day it is I will wait at least an hour for a 1 minute appointment with her (where I forget half of my questions). This is my 2nd pregnancy and for my next one I will definitely be finding a different doctor. I am very happy with her as a doctor but I agree that she is overbooked with patients and doesn't have time for any of them really Chat Icon

ITA, I think there is usually less of a wait if you schedule with Wagner, he seems to expedite a little better than Goldman (though Goldman is soooo nice).
