question for those whose dc was on medicine for acid reflux

My dr put dass on axid twice a day .50 doasge. How much did your child take? Did it work? How long did it take to see a difference?

DS was put on it at around 8 months & is a big boy. He took 1/2 teaspoon 2x a day & then they reduced it after a few months to once a day. He was taken off of it a little after 1st birthday.
It did help him & it was pretty quick. Probably within a few days. Hope that helps.

My DS was put on it at around 2 months (prevacid) 1.5 mL 2X day. My ped never increased the dose, so in effect weaned him. After three months he is no longer on it. The results were pretty quick. He's been off it a week now and so far so good.

DS was put on Axid a couple of weeks ago. He get 2ml twice a day. I think it is starting to work.

DS has been on Axid for a few months and we have adjusted the dose a few times. I did not see a difference until we added Mylanta. Mylanta caused runny poops so we had to cut back on it but it helps the reflux. I would take my baby off the Axid but the doctor insists that it is doing something.

Jacob was on Zantac for acid reflux. We saw a difference in about a week.

My DD's were on pepcid 2.5 mls once a day.
my oldest was on it for a month then it didn't work anymore and it never worked for my youngest.

Both were put on 15mg of prevacid and that worked miracles. It took about 3 days to see improvement and a week to see a total turn around.
