My office will just be closed on Wednesday. I am not planning to take surrounding days to link it to the weekend.

Tuesday 7/3 - Office closes at 1pm
Wednesday 7/4 - Office Closed
Thursday back to work...
We have the same thing. A holiday eve. Unfortunately, we are not taking off before or after.

Well since death NEVER takes a holiday, I will be at work ....this is the first 4th of July I have had to work since like 2000 I think
Seriously, the funeral home never closes, so we only get shortened days on Thanksgiving and Christmas. If any other holiday falls on your day off, then you got lucky!
  DH & I celebrate our 5th Anniversary on July 4th!!
I am hoping I may be able to get someone to be on call Tuesday evening for me so we can go to dinner together!!
THEN.....on July 5th, Thursday I am leaving on a road trip with the girls to go upstate on the bikes!!!! So I took 2 Vacation Days to link up to my 3 day weekend for that!
I ALMOST had someone to work for me on the 4th, but the other girl beat me to asking that person who is off on Wednesdays

DH and I are going to be on vacation through 7/1, and we took off the 2nd and 3rd to extend our time off through Wednesday. However, I now may be starting a new job, which would start on the 2nd or 3rd, so we'll see.

I'm a teacher so I'm done in June. Dh has the week off so we'll be celebrating 4th of July this year in St. Lucia
