Question- I felt patches of "rough" skin on DS' legs
All of the sudden today, after his bath I was rubbing/drying off his legs and notices there were rough patches. I looked/felt his whole body, and it was no where else. It doesn't look too different from the rest of his skin, but the best way to describe it is almost like he has goose bumps, but not all over, only in patches.
Any idea what this is?!?!?

Marron has it too and has had it since she was a couple of months old. The doc said it is just dry skin and to just put lotion on. She still has it on her legs and arms but I don't worry too much. I do wish she were "baby smooth", but I know she has sensitive skin so I'm not going to go crazy trying to fix it.

I bathe Troy every other day and religeously put lotion on after. Sometimes I put it on the nights that we don't bathe him, just as a soothing method.

Re: Question- I felt patches of "rough" skin on DS' legs
You could check with your dr. but my children have sensitive skin and my ped told me not to use the johnson & johnson lotion after the bath because it can irritate the skin (when it's sensitive) he also recommended putting aquaphor on the area 3x a day and if it's really bad he said you can use cortizon.

I was going to ask what kind of lotion - so far J&J works for Cailen, but I can see it not working for really dry skin....

I've been using J&J Lavender.
Maybe I will try something else...something hypoallegenic or more for sensitive/dry skin
Thanks!

My dr. just said the same about my dd. He suggested Aquaphor or Eucelin(?) He told us to avoid J&J. He said Aveeno was fine also. He also suggested cutting back her bath from every 2 days to every 3 days
