Question of The Day 1/11/07

Good Afternoon everyone...

here's the question of the day.


When you were on or younger than 18, how old did you think you would be when you got engaged and then married? And how old were you actually when it happened/or how old are you now?

When I was around 18 and even when I was 21, I SWORE I wouldn't be married until AT LEAST 30, I could see myself maybe getting engaged at that point. Career was too important and I didn't see how the two could possible go together.

I was engaged at 23, and married at 25 There went that plan.

I always wanted to be married by 25, first child by 28....

Well... I got married 2 months shy of being 30!!

And I wouldn't change a thing looking back at all that happened!

I always thought I'd be married around 27 - that seemed like a "good age" to me I figured kids would follow 2-3 years after that.
I got engaged at 30, married at 31, and don't have kids yet!

I had a timeline of 25 and older, when i had a career and was set financially. Yeah right.

I got married when i was 22 and I still don't have a career.

I'm working on it though.

I never gave it much thought but wanted it to be by 30....

So engaged at 27
Married at 27

I always thought I would get married right out of college. My parents were married at 22 and had me when they were 23, so that was normal to me.

I actually got engaged at 25, married when I was 27 and now I'm 31.

When I was young I thought I would be engaged after HS, married by the time I was 20 (I thought I was going to marry my BF at the time).

I got married the first time at 24 - to a different guy and this time at 38

I never thought I'd get married. I was a tom boy throughout high school and in college. So getting engaged at 22 and married at 24 is a def. shock for me, but worth every second!!!!!!!

I was kind of similar...at 18 though I had a serious boyfriend I really thought I would be 28-30 and getting engaged (he didn't seem in any rush), who knew we would break up after college and I would meet Dh, be engaged at 22 and married by 23

I always wanted to get married early and have kids right away, so i guess my plan worked out, I was married at 26, and Had DD at 27. I'm 29 now.

I never really thought about it specifically.

But I just had a FEELING I was going to be engaged and married young. I'm mature for my age, I grew up around older people (by a lot) my whole life and I've always been interested in serious relationships only.

I never had the drive to "party" or go out and date and live that lifestyle. It's fine for others but never did anything for me- so I had a feeling in my gut that I would be married "young" but I had no idea when and didn't really think about it.

When I met DH I was like oh yeah! I'm ready! lol I got engaged when I was just 21 and I will be 23 when we have our wedding (we ran off and got married- of course lol- before then so I was technically 21 when I got married) but the wedding (the party lol) is in nine months and I'll be 23.

I always thought I would get married later in life, I was 28 we we got engaged and 30 when we tied the knot. Im glad I did it sooner then planned. And Im going to 32 4/15

All I figured was that I wanted to be married & have a child before I was 30. I had my son when I was 30 & was married when I was 32.

i honestly don't think I thought much about it. i probably thought it would be a little earier, because I wanted to have my first baby by the time I was 30, but also have 2 years of selfish time. getting married at 28 does not fit into that time frame, but I shouldn't be too far off

I thought I would be married by 25 kids by 28.

I was married at 28, kids who knows.

I thought I would marry by 30 and I wasn't sure about when to have kids.

I got married when I was 30 and I still don't have kids and haven't started trying yet.

At 18, I was already dating Rich for quite a while...I wanted to be married by 25, 2 children by 30.

I'm right on track! I'm marrying 3 months before my 25th b-day.

I always thought I'd get married at 25 (after finishing school) and have 2 kids by the age of 30. I got married when I was 25. By that time, I was done with law school, passed the bar exam and was admitted as an attorney. 9 mos later I got pregnant with our son who was born when I was 26. I am 27 now and would like to TTC soon. So I'm pretty much where I thought I would be.

I always thought I would be married by 22 and have 2.5 kids and a house with a white picket fence by 25. Ummmm...married at 30.5. No kids yet and I really don't see any in the real future right now. I guess I was alittle off with my estimates. But actually, I'm glad it happened this way. Looking back, I was SO NOT READY at 22 or 28 for that matter. It works out I guess.

I thought I would be engaged at 23 and married by 25. I was dating someone seriously in high school & the beginning of college. The plan was both go to the same college & when I graduated we would get married. I broke up with him by Columbus Day weekend freshman year and we dated on & off after that. Great guy, but not for me.

My how things change as you get older! Engaged a day after turning 29 - married at 31.
