Question on Heartbeat

Hello Ladies,

I have my first appointment next week. I think that I am going to be 7W5D at that point. I have heard that you can "see" the heartbeat at that point, but can you also hear it?

Thank you!

Re: Question on Heartbeat

you should be able to hear it at that point. We saw the heartbeat at 6w4d and heard it at 7w4d

Re: Question on Heartbeat

Depends on their sonogram machine. We didn't hear the HB until 12 weeks, not that it wasn't able to be heard, just the machine they used didn't do that.

Re: Question on Heartbeat

As pp mentioned, it depends on the sono machine. I didn't hear the heartbeat until the NP used a doppler at 11 weeks. Good luck!

Re: Question on Heartbeat

we saw and heard the heartbeat at 6w1d - however we are seeing an RE - so they may have more 'fancy' equipment than an OB....(not saying this as fact, just saying maybe...).

Re: Question on Heartbeat

Depends on if the dr has a machine that has that capability. My dr did, so I heard the HB at just about 7 weeks.
