Question RE: Freezing Foods
How early is too early to freeze meals ahead of time...????
I'm due June 8th... Is it too early to make dinners to freeze? Such as chicken parm??
I'm officially done working, and I think I'm going to need something to keep me busy..
Or can you suggest foods that are ok to freeze early.... I'm afraid to wait to long, that I may not want to do anything...

Re: Question RE: Freezing Foods
you can but i would wait on it at least another week or 2 if you can...
Soups, sauces, stews etc are better for long term freezing

Re: Question RE: Freezing Foods
I think DH is excited I won't be cooking any healthy meals so he'll be eating pizza and McD's. Although my parents and inlaws will be around and I'm sure bringing food over.
Sauce and soups are good to freeze for a while. Baked Ziti
You can also buy some stuff at Costco or BJ's to keep in the freezer like moz stix, potato skins, etc so we figured when we have company we can just throw it in the oven to serve for guests.

Re: Question RE: Freezing Foods
I would do the basics now --- sauce, chili, stew (things with a more liquid base freeze better for longer IMO)
But honestly, I think chicken parm (with a lot of sauce), ziti, lasagna etc. would be fine now too. I didn't freeze too much b/c in the very beginning even the thought of heating up food made me tired! lol We ate a lot of take out and people brought food. My DH would go once a week and buy cold cuts and that helped too.
I would get some basics to keep in the freezer...like pancakes, english muffins, chopmeat, hotdogs etc. so you have easy stuff on hand.
