Question Re: Post Pregnancy body
Allison will be 9 months on the 16th we are going to ttc again soon. I am actually a few lbs lighter than i was when i got pregnant( maybe 2-4) and all my old clothes fit me yet i fee like my hips are HUGE!!!!!!! I feel soo wide in anything i put on capris shorts jeans skirts. Now my question what can i do about it before i get pg again so at least i dont get even bigger hips than i have now.
Will walking once work ends help my hips? shoud i do any exercises? Joining a gymn is out of teh question right now

Re: Question Re: Post Pregnancy body
From what I understand when you are pregnant your hips and pelvis widen obviously to allow for the birth. But I am not sure how much time it takes to "go back to normal" or if they ever do. From what I have heard it takes over a full year for your body to heal and go back to the way it used to be.

Re: Question Re: Post Pregnancy body
This is probably not the answer you want, but after Molly (baby #2), I have big time Mommy hips. With Jack, my body pretty much went exactly back to pre preggo, but Molly really did the damage! My mom even noticed and was like "wow...you never had hips like that before."
I find I get the best and quickest results with lunges and squats. Also, deep ballet plies also do the trick. Just make sure that your posture stays correct and the lunges tone you up very quickly. A couple of times a day walk around the house doing lunges. It kills, but works.

Re: Question Re: Post Pregnancy body
I was wide around the hips and butt to begin with, so I think that area hasn't changed all that much. For me, it's my calves. They seem so big a muscular and there's no more definition to my ankles. I kind of have cankles.

Re: Question Re: Post Pregnancy body
Do you have any hills by your house? Walking up and down hills, not just on a flat surface, is the best thing to do. It gets your heart rate up and works more muscles too. Throw some walking lunges in (you can do these on a flat surface) and some push ups too. Most importantly is your diet though.
