Reading your post has brought me to tears. I am so sorry that you had to go through this. It is so heartbraking since we think of our pets as our children.

We put Apollo to sleep last night. I am so raw and heartbroken at the moment.

First off, I just wanted to say that I am really sorry. This is never an easy choice. I have two dogs of my own and think about the day where I too will have to make that decision and it wont be an easy one. That being said, it sounds like shes in pain and I believe once a dog is in pain then a decision needs to be made...I personally would consider euthansia  but go with what your heart tells you!
