Question regarding how your relationship was when....
When you all got home from the hospital how was your realtionship w/ your significant other.. This is truly one of the greatest things that ever happened to me but we have been banging heads since we came home. Fine he has been really sick for 3 days and has not been able to hang w/ his daughter but no need to take it out on me...It just seems anything he says is in a nasty tone.. Maybe its just my hormones or that I have been very tired but just wondering how it was for everyone else.... Love my husbnad to death but really needed to vent..

Re: Question regarding how your relationship was when....
Right after Ryan was born... I feel DH and I had this whole new love for eachother...
He was so helpful in the beg. and our relationship was like on cloud nine...
Now 5 months later... hes not as helpful... but I love him anyway

Re: Question regarding how your relationship was when....
In the beginning it was good, he wanted to help a lot with Sarah and he was also trying to keep his parents off my back and give us some space to figure things out on our own.
I'm sure it's just that your DH is frustrated and disappointed that the first few days as a family haven't been what he wanted.

Re: Question regarding how your relationship was when....
Initially it was great. DH was so helpful and so attentive to my needs but slowly that has dwindled. He is still helpful I will say that but "our" relationship has definitely suffered. I know in time it will get better. Its almost like we're both just too tired to put in the effort to connect again as husband and wife and not just be parents. Its all new still, we'll figure it out.

DH was SO helpful in the beginning and still is to this day. He offers alot to do things, like get up if he cries in the middle of the night, but since I am home now and DH works a gizzilion jobs I just do it.

DH was very helpful in the beginning but it has tapered off a bit and now we all know who takes care of the baby...
At times he can still be helpful, but it's not the same as the first 2 weeks when the baby is new to your world.

Re: Question regarding how your relationship was when....
Give it some time, what you are going through is very normal. It is a HUGE adjustment - and a HUGE life event - so stress is high, and sometimes we take it out on the ones we love the most. In a few weeks/months having the baby around will start to feel "normal" and your relationship will reflect that as well.

well, mu hubby has to be asked to participate in helping out, but he is great when th ebaby forst comes home, it is a fews weeks later when he feels detatched because I BF that he gets really laxed. Our relationship has never been better and that is afte 3 kids! We truly make each other laugh hysterically and we are "buddes", after the kids go to sleep I feel like we are 16 again! It gets better, everyone is trying ot find their role in the new baby's life, hang int here!
