Question: What do you think makes you a "chat board person"?

Has this been done before?

I'm curious what everyone thinks of what makes them a chat board person. Yes, alot of people have history with the same people here (or on other site) - but you could keep in touch on the phone/in person too. Yes, some people have time/computer at work. Yes, some people like to talk in general and enjoy doing it alot - whether on the computer or phone. But I'm curious why you are a person who frequents a chat board. After all, we all know plenty of people in our lives who just wouldn't be into it at all. Not because doing it is a bad thing but just because it's not something that is interesting to them.

So why do you think you do it??

I guess I should answer my own Q.

I'm sure there are other reasons but off the top of my head, think I do it because I have the time and access to a computer. I get alot of information from other people and I enjoy seeing what makes people tick. I find it interesting to see how people make decisions and choices.

I work in an office with just me and my dad.... and 90 percent of the people I talk to during the day are male..I love my job but it does get a little boring not really having any females in the office. I like this chat room because I give me some interaction that I definately don't get at my job

hmm... good question! LOL i think for me, its that i have a lot of time ( i work at a school, so i get home early, have days off during the year, etc) but MOSTLY, i think its because i'm just a very curious person. i like to come on here and read about how other people live, about their lives. i also think its a great place to get advice on situations from an "outsiders" POV...

I enjoy hearing stories, seeing pics, getting advise and mostly avoid doing my work

I like that you can vent and express excitement to people who will truly feel for you, without bias and with privacy

I like that chatting on a forum lets you see how a large number of other people -- anonymous people and people that you may not have any real life connection to -- live their lives. You get to see their opinions on things, how they do things... etc.

That's why I find the "How do you clean your bathroom" type threads so fun...

You see that we are all so similar... yet you may pass that person on the street and by looks alone assume you have nothing in common with them...

I got so much wonderful advice from LIW and enjoyed chatting with everyone and laughing so much at the whit that you girls have that it was a no-brainer for me to come to LIF. I enjoy the connection on a daily basis
