Questions about Maui

We're considering a trip to Maui for the end of the year.

- Would seven days be too long?
- In addition to laying at the pool/beach, what other things are there to do on the island?
- Any restaurant recommendations?

No kids. Just Maui, no other islands. We've already been to Oahu and loved it there.

Seven days is not too long!!! Since 2007 DH and i have spent almost 45 nights on Maui and never get bored. The last time we were there was in May. Some activities we've enjoyed over the years:

Parasailing
Sunset cocktail cruise
Sunset at Haleakaka crater
Sunrise at Haleakaka crater
Horseback riding down into haleakala crater
The road to Hana
Snorkeling trip to Molokini
Take the ferry to Lanai, rent a jeep and explore for the day
The maui ocean center aquarium
Explore Paia
Walk around Lahaina and visit some art galleries
DH plays golf and I go to the spa
Go to a luau
Watch the stars from the roof of the hyatt

Restaurant recommendations depend on where in Maui you're staying. We absolutely love Maui and are going back for trip number 6 next October.

We spent 5 nights in Maui, so I don't think your trip will be too long. We mostly ate at our hotel, but did go out to Mama's Fish House one night. I was skeptical about it, since it's SO popular, but it was definitely worth it! We also went to a luau, which was ok.

For activities, we saw the sunrise at Haleakala, did the road to Hana, and then some water activities at our hotel.

Oh and depending on what time of year you go, you can also go whale watching
