Questions for BTDT ...C-section measuring ahead
So I went in for my sono yesterday(35 weeks and 5 days) and the tech told me that I was measuring a week ahead. I know that they do not change your due date but I wanted to know since it is a c-section do you think they may change it. Also I do know that everything is just a guess.

Re: Questions for BTDT ...C-section measuring ahead
A week ahead is not that much. I have been measuring a week and a half ahead since 22 weeks (could be more haven't had a recent sono and I am 30 weeks now). I doubt they would move up your sono - I'm having a repeat scheduled section and they have told me I will probably go early but they don't worry about it - they just say as soon as you start going into labor, contractions start, etc you just immediately head to the hospital (and don't wait) and they will section me right away.

Re: Questions for BTDT ...C-section measuring ahead
I would say it depends on the Dr, but I was measuring almost 3 weeks ahead with DS#2 and we did not change my DD. He was not in distress, nor was I, so we did not change the date. I went into labor the day before my scheduled C-section, which was set for 10 days before my Due Date.
ETA: BTW, the growth sonos (all 5 of them) were wrong, so we would have changed the date for nothing.

Growth sono's are not always reliable, so unless there is another reason to move up your date most dr's don't.

Re: Questions for BTDT ...C-section measuring ahead
Thanks for posting this. At my 34 wk appt yesterday, my dr. said i was measuring big as well (by measuring my belly). (Two wks ago I was measuring fine). She asked how big DD was. She said we'd see what was going on at the growth sono in 2 wks, but I was curious about this. I'm set for a sked CS too.

Re: Questions for BTDT ...C-section measuring ahead
My DS was full term (in size) at week 32. Many asked me why the dr wouldn't take him early. Size doesn't matter. It is all about baby development. As long as we were both healthy, they said they would not take him out before week 39.
I went to the dr once I hit 38 weeks. At that appt I was supposed to schedule my c-section for 1-2 weeks later. Well, I was sent straight to the hospital to deliver him.
That day I delivered my 11 1/2 pound baby boy.
Since he was an early c-section, his lungs were still not fully developed. He was put into NICU. I felt bad with him there, next to the 2 pound babies. In fact, I was embarrassed because I felt like he didn't belong. He looked like the bodyguard to all the NICU babies. But he was still early, no matter his size.
