Questions for in-home day care sitter
I am going back to work in Sept and 1x a week DS will be at a woman's house in the district I teach in. She has a terrific reputation and i even taught her son a few yrs ago. To this day, he is still my fave student
I am going to her house Thurs to finalize things for Sept and for her to meet Will. I know i should have some questions/concerns. What things should i ask her? I have never left him w/ anyone other than my mom or MIL (who happen to be watching him the other 4 days of the week when i go back to work)
Thanks

Re: Questions for in-home day care sitter
i never really had any questions/concerns for our in home sitter...but i would think the following:
1. put anything in writing that you are NOT okay with (if you don't want her driving with him, don't want her going in a pool with him, etc.).
2. questions about food - if you don't want her giving him anything that YOU don't provide...make that clear.
3. is she certified in CPR...etc.
4. your feelings on CIO, etc.
5. milestones - you may want to let her know - if he walks with her, you don't want to know...etc.
6. you will want to see where he'll be sleeping, playing, etc.
if i think of anything else - i'll edit!

Re: Questions for in-home day care sitter
Ok, I'm a pretty relaxed mom, and use an in-home sitter. My main coversation with her when I introduced DD was I gave her DD's schedule and asked her to please follow it. I told her how I prepare bottles and all that.
Then I asked her about pets/who would be in the house/if they would go anywhere/I asked her to go over what she does with a baby all day. I wanted to make DD was stimulated.
