Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
Many years ago on LIF...I'm talking back about 7 years ago there was this thread on the TTC board and I found it so helpful! So, I thought I'd bring it back and hopefully it will be just as helpful to all of us who are trying each month!
For the new mommas-to-be with recent BFP's:
1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.)
5. What were your first symptoms?
Congrats to all those who have received BFP's!!!

Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) OPKs, twice a day as soon as my period ended.
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) We BD starting 9 days from the start of period, up until I got my positive OPK and stopped when they were no longer positive.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I tested at 9dpo and got the faintest positive there ever was...They darkened as the days went on.
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.) I started prenatals, folic acid and baby aspirin in June, 3 months before I started trying. I also practiced using opks before we started trying as to not miss my window.
5. What were your first symptoms? My first symptoms were sore boobs but I was well aware that I was pregnant by that time!
Good Luck Ladies! Hope some of that helps!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
It took me 5 months this time to get pregnant. I did use OPKs for a couple months but didn't find them reliable. I'm very regular with my cycle so I just watched my body for EWCM and for the O pain I get. Also, I still BF my DC so when my nipples started getting sensitive I knew it was O time.
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
Every other day from about CD 7 to CD 15 or so. Basically the week I O'd I BD every other day.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
This month I totally didn't think I was pregnant because I had a chemical last month. So I ended up testing at about 12 dpo, randomly in the middle of the day because my boobs started to hurt out of nowhere, and I threw up the night before, once, randomly.
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.)
I've been taking a B complex vitamin for the last 3 months or so. I think it may have helped.
5. What were your first symptoms?
Sore boobs! This time AND last time. Noticeably sore. Also, I thought I had food poisoning at 11dpo because I randomly got super nauseous in bed, threw up once, and then was fine. Tested the next day.
Congrats to all those who have received BFP's!!!

1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) OPKs and temping
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) Every day once OPK was positive.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) Strong positive 13 dpo- and I implanted late. My betas were off the carts.
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.) Boatloads of vitamin B6. I had a short luteal phase.
5. What were your first symptoms? None. I only tested because my temp dropped and then shot back up.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) OPKs- wondfo. I usually tested around 3 days before expected ovulation and kept testing until it got lighter instead of getting darker
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) Once I nailed down ovulation time, we would once a day- 3 days before expected ovulation, ovulation day, and 3 days after.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) Tested at 10 DPO with wondfo and FRER. Wondfos were negative, FRER was very faintly positive. Same at 11DPO. At 12DPO, FRER was still very faint, but I got a "pregnant" on a CBE Digital.
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.) I did take vitamin B. Not sure if that had any effect on our success. It can't hurt though!
5. What were your first symptoms? I had no symptoms until I was about 8 weeks, after my first appointment- then it was tender breasts and terrible morning sickness.

Re: Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.)
I used OPK's.
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.)
We tried for every other day leading up to O day, O day, the day after. The month I got my BFP, we did it the day before I got the smiley, and the day after the smiley - we did not do it the day of the smiley on the OPK.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!)
Waited until 2 days after my missed period because my period can be 28-30 days. I tested on day 30 and got a strong BFP.
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.)
Acupuncture! I did acupuncture for around 2 months prior to getting my BFP, I cut all dairy and cold foods from my diet and drank a cup of ginger tea every night. My acupuncturist told me the body needs to be warm and receptive and drink cold milk/beverages and eating cold foods hinders that. She was right.
5. What were your first symptoms?
None until after my BFP. Slight nausea around 7 weeks that lasted until 12 weeks.
Congrats to all those who have received BFP's!!!

Re: Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
I guess I can answer this now
1. What method did you use to TTC? I used OPK's to track Ovulation.
2. What was your BD schedule? This particular month we BD'd 2 days before O, the day before O (the day I got my smiley), and the day after O.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I started testing at 10DPO and got BFN's on 10DPO and 11DPO. I tested in the evening on 12DPO because I felt sick and got the faintest BFP ever. DH couldn't even see it. Tested again on 13DPO around noon after holding my bladder for 3 hours and sure enough BFP!!!!
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.) Nope.
5. What were your first symptoms? I would have sworn this month we were out. I had very very few symptoms and really thought this wasn't our month. On 7DPO I had some slight AF-like cramping but nothing to write home about. Nothing else until 10DPO when I started to notice my boobs were a bit sore. By 12DPO they felt like they were going to fall off they hurt so bad, but I still chalked it up to AF coming. On 12DPO in the evening I sat down on the couch to watch TV and I kept smelling what smelled like bad fish...I'm pretty sure it was my dog's feet, but it was like being smacked in the face with a ton of fishy bricks. No one else smelled it. It was turning my stomach. That was my tell-tale sign that made me test...the same thing happened when I was pregnant with DS and smelled peanut butter
Best of Luck to everyone trying! I hope this helps !

Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. What method did you use to TTC? (temping, OPKs, etc.) I used OPKs. I used Wondfos to pinpoint when I was reaching peak and then First Response to get a smiley to know when we should do a double dose.
2. What was your BD schedule? (e.g., every other day until positive OPK; nothing, then every day once positive OPK, etc.) Basically whenever we could We BD 2 days before ovulation and then the day I got my smiley.
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) I tested at 10 DPO and got a very faint positive.
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.) I was taking prenatals but also exercising a lot. I was probably in the best shape of my life right before I got pregnant--doh! My triathlon coach actually said that he knows tons of women that get pregnant when they are in heavy training mode but who knows.
5. What were your first symptoms? My chest was sore and I was bloated early on. I starting taking bump pictures from 4 weeks on and it is very obvious at Week 5 that I was a big bloated mess!

Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. For first pregnancy opks for five months and tempting plus opk for two ( I found out by temping I ovulated a lot later than I thought 3 days post smiley) got pg the second month I temped. Pregnancy #2 was completely unplanned, had unprotected sex once and voila.
2. Nothing in particular. BD around when I thought I was ovulating. Tried Deanna's plan once or twice but didn't work.
3. First 10 dpo BC I felt "weird" cramping which I assumed to be implanation. Second 20dpo BC I've been so busy with work and my 11 month old it took a while for me to realize I was late.
4. Relaxing, trying to be carefree. Temping! If you really want to have the most control over getting pregnant, temping is the best bet. Also tracking with an app like Fertility Friend. This board is so helpful too.
5. First implanation cramping. Second period cramps without a period for a few days, strong sense of smell, dizziness

Re: Questions for those with recent BFP's to help us TTCers!
1. What method did you use to TTC? OPKs
2. What was your BD schedule? every 3 days throughout the month for the most part, and then every other day in the 5 day ovulation window
3. At how many dpo did you test? (including both BFNs and BFP might be helpful!) started at 11dpo, got a VERY faint positive on 12dpo. I went in for bloodwork that day (previously had an ectopic so i wanted to monitor early) and hcg was only 5. Couldn't believe that FRER picks up really low hcg levels like that. By 14dpo, the line was very noticeable, and by 16 or 17 dpo the line was the same as the control
4. Anything else that might have contributed? (prenatals, etc.) I was on clomid the month before my BFP, and decided to stop because i didn't like how i felt on it. I read online that clomid can still possibly be in your system at your next ovulation, so it's a possibility that it could have helped..
5. What were your first symptoms? I didn't have any symptoms at all until around 5 weeks
