His surgery was postponed today. He had a drop in heart rate probably due to all of the heart meds he is on to keep his heart rate down. They took him off of 3 out of the 4 heart meds to see if that helps. Surgery will be rescheduled for Tuesday I think. Too bad, they were going to trach him today and that would have made him more comfortable overall. So they are keeping him on light sedation so he stays comfy.
The NP says he was somewhat responsive on the light seds.
They put him on an air mattress so he's more comfy as well. he is now diabetic and if he gets sores I want to try to prevent infection. that's a killer!
Besides the fact my mom has worked there for more than 20 years, I spent a week there last June with my kidney infection, and my dad had his 8-hour cancer surgery there last November. He's in good hands!
