quick question re: sterilizing bottle parts
My day care center just dropped two of my daughters bottles and they broke (and spilt 10 oz of BM). Thankfully, she is right across the street from my office so I can bring over expressed BM. The problem is I don't have extra bottles at daycare.
I just ran out and purchased 2 Born Free bottles (I normally use Dr Browns). I don't know how to sterilize them in my office. I do have a Medela steam bag that I use for my breast pump. Does anyone know if I can put the Born Free parts into the microwave steam bag? Would it be terrible if I just washed them in hot soapy water? I'm in a pinch here.
thanks a million

I would just wash them as well as you can. There is no such thing as a "sterile" bottle. The second you take it out of a sterile environment, it's no longer sterile. Just wash off anything that came from being brand new, and you'll be fine....

Does the daycare happen to have a dishwasher?

No. And neither does ny office unfortunately. Ugh. I don't know why I never thought to leave extra bottles. I figure I'm right across the street and can always go nurse her. I usually nurse her once a day anyway but now this would be 2 more times. I'll never get any work done.
I'll probably just wash them in soapy water. I can't stress myself out over it.
Thanks.
